The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies has made a whopping $117.6 million and is still yet to open in the USA. The Battle of the Five Armies was No 1 in Germany, where it took $19.5 million, in the UK with $15.2 million and in France with $14.5 million. In Russia it took $13.4 million, the largest ever opening for a film from studio Warner Bros in the country. Jackson’s film is due to open in the US on Wednesday, December 17. The movie has received a staggering level of top reviews; Jackson’s final movie of the saga already suggests a $1 billion plus financial pull, so it might meet a higher intake after the opening in America this Wednesday.
