The Libertines Add Support Bands To Arena Tour | Music News
Continuing their slow descent into self-parody, The Libertines have announced that also-rans The View and The Enemy will be accompanying them on their 2016 jumbo-sized arena tour. After this summer’s album Anthem For Doomed Youth, this marks another blow to the band’s reputation for subtle wit and passionately tugging at society’s veil from below.
With tickets selling for up to £130, support acts that sprung up a pound a dozen in their own wake, and new material which, while not particularly bad, sounds exactly like what it is- weary grown ups trying to make a new libertines album. And for all this, I have to go and bid on a pair of standing area seats now- it’s still the Lib’s after all…
