The Libertines will play at the 3Arena in Dublin in July. Lead singer Pete Doherty had previously confirmed that the Libertines were recording their first album in 11 years at Karma Studios in Thailand. The band released a short video in December that showed them signing a record deal with Virgin/EMI in lieu of the release. The band’s presence is coming back with some strength; perhaps Doherty has a stronger pedigree than we first thought. Hopefully there’s no relapse and the band can develop a longer legacy. Just goes to show that you never know.
