There was great anticipation behind the prospect of a new The National album in 2016, especially after lead singer, Matt Berninger, expressed excitement at how amazing the new songs they had been recording in the studio were. However, in a recent Q&A session on Facebook, Berninger revealed that the recording process is taking a lot longer than he, or anyone else in the band, had thought at first, and as a consequence, there will be no new album release next year. Unfortunately, as of yet, there is no news on when it would be released instead.
