The Script For The Next ‘Predator’ Is Complete | Film News

Predator

About a year ago, it was announced that Shane Black and Fred Dekker would be collaborating on the next installment of the Predator franchise, with the pair writing the script together and Black directing the film. News on the project has been quiet since then, but Dekker recently revealed on his Facebook page that he’s just handed in the latest draft to 20th Century Fox. The film currently has no release date.

This would be the fourth Predator film (sixth counting the Alien vs Predator films), following on from 2010’s Predators. This isn’t Black’s first foray with the franchise, having worked as a script doctor on the original 1987 classic as well as playing the character of Hawkins. He and Dekker have worked together on the horror-comedy The Monster Squad and developed the pilot for Amazon Studios’ western show Edge. Black’s next directorial effort, The Nice Guys starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, is set for release on 20 May, 2016.
