The Skints – Our Town | New Music

That beautiful mix of reggae dub and ballsy punk ethos has been one of Britain’s greatest musical exports. Flying the flag for the 2-tone and ska genre of years gone by are The Skints from North East London. They have been working hard on the touring circuit for a while now, averaging around 150 shows per year and have built a reputation for lively performances through their blend of pop hooks, grimey basslines and ska vibes.

New release, “This Town” collaborates with Brixton singer, Tippa Irie and percussionist Horseman who featured on their acclaimed cover of Katy B‘s “On A Mission“. The new track is a salute to London, “…the city I was born in, you know I love this town” sung with melancholy about the town which provided the backdrop to their spirited sound that spans decades and nations of influence. The band are due to release their third LP FM</em>and this is the first single from it, as they prepare to showcase their new material on a new tour which kicks off on April 13.
