The Wailers Announce Autumn 2015 UK ‘Legend’ Tour | Music News

After the tremendous success of their huge sell out UK tour last year, legendary reggae artists The Wailers are returning to mark their highly celebrated Legend tour. This year they are back with an extended run of dates and will play twelve shows across some of the UK’s major cities. Celebrating over 30 years since the release of Bob Marley & the Wailers LEGEND album, the greatest selling reggae album of all time! The band will be playing Legend in its entirety, plus all your favorites classics like “One Love”, “Jammin”, “Get Up, Stand Up”, and more. Don’t miss the show!

Formed in 1969, when Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, and Peter Tosh recruited the Barrett brothers – bassist Aston “Family Man” (still performing with the band today) and drummer Carly – from Lee Perry’s Upsetters to play on hits such as “Lively Up Yourself”, “Trenchtown Rock”, “Duppy Conqueror”, and many more besides. Inspired by Rastafari and their ambitions of reaching an international audience, this is the line-up that pioneered roots rock reggae. Signed to Island Records in 1971, The Wailers have sold in excess of 250 million albums worldwide.

Outside of their ground-breaking work with Marley, The Wailers have played with reggae legends such as Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, and Burning Spear, as wel as international acts like Sting, The Fugees, Stevie Wonder and Carlos Santana. Making this their biggest UK tour to date, the band will be making its UK audiences dance and sing along all through November. The current line-up features the anchor of the band, Aston “Family Man” Barrett on bass, Duane “Danglin’” Anglin on lead vocals, Keith Sterling on keyboards, Zeb “Drummy” Williams on drums, Audley Chisholm on rhythm Guitar, Aston Barrett Jr. on percussion/keys, and on backing vocals Cegee Victory.
