There Is A Bigger Threat Than Doomsday In ‘Batman V Superman’ | Film News

When the most recent trailer for Batman v Superman was released, a certain character reveal made fans a bit anxious. This was Doomsday, the mindless behemoth responsible for the death of Superman (no biggie). So, with the announcement that Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman would tangle with Doomsday, there were marginal fears that Supes wouldn’t make it to the Justice League film in one piece.

However, Batman v Superman‘s production designer, Patrick Tatopoulos, has moved in to try and soothe the worried minds of DC fans. Talking to Premiere magazine, Tatopoulos spoke about the fate of Superman, stating that “Superman isn’t just killed off at the end of something“, and that Doomsday “isn’t just the final act“.

According to Tatopoulos, Doomsday is “part of Lex’s plan to protect the world“. This is Lex Luthor, the archenemy of Superman, who looks more like a 19 year-old whiz-kid than a criminal mastermind here as he is portrayed by the eternally youthful 32 year-old Jesse Eisenberg.

Batman v Superman  is set after Man of Steel  and Superman has his own fan club of god-worshipers. Batman however, sees Superman as an unchecked threat, due to the carnage he and Zod wreaked in Man of Steel. The dark knight takes it upon himself to bring the boy scout into line while unseen threats develop behind the scenes.

Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot and Jesse Eisenberg lead the cast as Superman, Batman, Lois Lane, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor respectively. If you haven’t already, check out the trailer below for a look at what Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman have to deal with. Batman v Superman  will be released March 25, 2016.
