There Will Not Be A David Bowie Musical | Music News

David-Bowie-Where-Are-We-Now

After Danny Boyle admits to working on a David Bowie musical for some time, he claims this big project that he was “very keen” on bringing to life was shut down in an instant after Bowie himself expressed his dislike for the idea, and therefore rejected any requests to use his music in the film.

In a recent interview with the Radio Times, Boyle stated that he then set his sights on his Steve Jobs biopic to “fill the space in my heart left by the abandoned Bowie script“. After a tragic disappointing turn of events, which I believe to be such a shame, hopefully for the Slumdog Millionaire director, all his determination and fervour will have been shifted to his upcoming film instead.

As for David Bowie, he is set to release his 25th studio album Blackstar on his 69th birthday next January, with a single preceding the album as a taster later this November. For all those die-hard Bowie fans, here’s his classic “Life On Mars”
