‘Thirteen Reasons Why’: Netflix Releases Premiere Date Of The Bestselling Novel’s Adaptation | TV News

You might have heard of the best selling novel by Jay Asher. A slightly dark story about teenage suicide, Thirteen Reasons Why was one of the most widely talked about novels in 2007 and hit the New York Times Bestseller list in July 2011.

If you haven’t heard about it before, it centres around teenager, Clay Jensen, who returns home from school to discover a box with his name on it. Inside the box are cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, a former classmate who committed suicide two weeks previously.

On the tapes, Hannah explains there are thirteen reasons why she chose to kill herself. What secrets will Clay find out from her narrative? And is he going to find out if he made the list?

The adaptation, which takes the form of a thirteen (naturally) episode series is being executively produced by Selena Gomez, and stars newcomers Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford.

Thirteen Reasons Why is set to be released on Netflix on Friday, March 31, 2017.
