Tiana Major9 – Merry Go | New Music
Although coming second for the MOBO Unsung competition in 2014, Tiana Major9 proves not discouraged with her debut track, “Merry Go”. She has also supported acts such as Ray BLK and Ella Eyre, too. Her self-penned lyrics and preoccupation with jazz above gospel and garage is, you could say, her unique stamp upon the industry.
“Merry Go” certainly has quite jazzy feel to it, but soulful and bluesy to boot. The vocals are crystal clear, rather than the temptation of being indistinct and sultry. Sombre piano is then followed by what is almost singsong raps. The chorus is triumphant and booming, like the striving of the verses, her trials and tribulations, being rewarded.
