At 26 years old, Tiggs Da Author has “crafted an impressive individuality to his sound, which is as influenced by obscure 60s documentaries as African Jazz, Grime MC Dizzee Rascal and classic Motown acts”. His latest release is a remix of a track off his November EP, Glenville Grove, called “Swear Down”. It features Wretch 32 and Avelino.
“Swear Down (Remix)” is funky and joyous, full of sun kissed guitar and climbing bass. The raps speak frankly but with a smile, with what appears to be a vocal arrangement imitating heralding horn. The closing minute gets busy, slows down and then resumes joyous service. The rattle and clap and disappears, the track ends and you play on repeat.
