‘Titanic’ Composer James Horner Dies In Plane Crash | Film News

 

Legendary composer James Horner has died, aged 61, after a small aircraft that he was flying crashed near Santa Barbara on Monday, June 22. The aircraft crashed 60 miles North of California in the Los Padres national forest. James Horner is a legendary composer, who has done work for Titanic, Braveheart, Glory and Legends of the Fall, among other classic films. He has previously won Grammy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Academy Awards for his work.

 

Frequent collaborator Ron Howard paid tribute to Horner on twitter while his assistant Sylvia Patrycja paid him tribute on Facebook. Ron Howard said “Brilliant Composer James Horner, friend & collaborator on 7 movies has tragically died in a plane crash. My heart aches for his loved ones“, with Sylvia Patrycja declaring that, “we have lost an amazing person with a huge heart and unbelievable talent, he died doing what he loved. Thank you for all your support“. Our thoughts go out to all his family during this painful and difficult time.
