It’s a shame but not unexpected. Chris Evans reboot of Top Gear died as it began, in flames and torn to pieces by fans and critics alike. The series ended with a record ratings low, finishing with less than 2 million views, lower than any episode in the Jeremy Clarkson era of the show.

The sixth and final episode of the series post Clarkson garnered 1.9 million views, 1 million viewers down from last week and less than half its initial overnight audience when the series began. The numbers may have been affected by the coverage of the Euro 2016 quarter finals but its the final nail in the coffin for the series, and maybe even Evans.
