Travis Barker Empathises With Scott Weiland’s Drug Addiction | Music News

Travis Barker

Ex-Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver front-man Scott Weiland was found dead on December 3; the tour bus he died on was full of drugs including cocaine, sleeping pills, and Viagra. Weiland had a public history of drug addiction which Travis Barker, tattooed drummer of Blink-182, can personally identify with.

“I saw video [sic] of him recently, he sounded great and he looked fine. But you never know what demons anyone is fighting”, Barker said in a talk with Billboard. “Whatever you’re masking when you’re doing drugs gets more severe the more you mask it. Everyday you’re doing it more and more and you’re never facing what you’re running from — whatever that is”.

Drugs are capable of ruining, if not ending, lives and it’s a shame when people become addicted. Even though Scott Weiland is dead, at least he’s now resting comfortably, away from the vices which got the better of him.
