Utada Hikaru Releases New Album With Theme Tune For ‘Kingdom Hearts III’ | Music News

Famous Japanese singer and songwriter Utada Hikaru has released a new album titled Hatsukoi, which includes tracks like “Anata” and “Chikai”, the Japanese version of the main theme tune for the upcoming video game, Kingdom Hearts III.

Utada Hikaru debuted with her first album First Love back in 1999; an R&B and dance-pop inspired album featuring hits like “Automatic” and “Movin’ On Without You”. However, she gained much popularity with her second English album Exodus.

Exodus had many hits including “Hikari”, the main theme of the first game of Kingdom Hearts, her first collaboration with Square Enix and Disney. She collaborated with them once again for Kingdom Hearts II with “Passion”, which is included in her fifth studio album Ultra Blue.

Hatsukoi is her seventh Japanese studio album to date, coinciding with her 20th anniversary in music. She previously released five songs in the build-up: “Anata”, “Ōzora de Dakishimete“, “Forevermore“, “Play A Love Song” and the title song.
