Vinyl LP Sales 17% Higher Than Last Year | Music News

According to an ICM poll, Vinyl Sales have now reached there highest levels since 1998. The reason for this resurgence could be Streaming as people over the last decade go back to retro music.

 

Music services like Soundcloud, YouTube and Spotify are now used as a trial for people to decide whether they want to commit to a physical media purchase. It has been found that free music streamers are more likely to buy music merchandise in the real world.

 

Although Vinyl is thriving Dowloadable music has dropped 17% with CD album sales also dropping 15%. Over 3 million LPs have been sold in the first six months of this year compared to 2.6 million in the first six months of 2015.
