Watch Death Cab For Cutie’s Emotional Final Show With Chris Walla | Music News

Co-founding member of Death Cab For Cutie, Chris Walla played his final show with the band last night at Canada festival Rifflandia, after announcing his departure last month. An emotion filled performance finished with a big group hug marking the end of a near two-decade run for Walla as Ben Gibbard declared, “thank you so much for the last 17 years Chris”.

Walla will still appear on the bands upcoming album due out early 2015, but after that, his ties with the band will discontinue. However it’s not due to any form of conflict between members as Walla wrote in his letter announcement, “I will miss being a quarter of this band, and will support whatever course Death Cab For Cutie chooses from here. Moving forward, my plans are simply to continue making music, producing records and erring on the of benevolence and beauty whenever possible”. Below is the video of Walla’s last time performance of “Marching Bands Of Manhatten“.
