Collider has reported that HBO are interested in an adaptation of popular graphic novel Watchmen. Of course, there has already been an adaptation. In 2009 Zack Snyder brought Alan Moore’s brainchild to the big screen and got a decidedly mixed reception, winning praise for capturing the aesthetic but garnering controversy for the changes it made.

Many argued that the series, which is known for being intricate and complicated, would be better in a series format. Snyder has now been involved in the meetings to discuss a possible show with HBO, meaning he would get another chance to adapt the novel. Details on whether the adaptation would be a sequel, prequel or re-imagining of the original are sparse at the moment. There are also no details on when the adaptation would be released.
