‘Wonder Woman’ Takes Over London For Filming | Film News

Gal Gadot

Filming of DC’s stand alone film Wonder Woman began back in November. Since then, the production has been taken around France, Italy and the U.K. One U.K. location, Trafalgar Square, closed down on Sunday February 21 for filming but that didn’t stop set photos from being taken by the onlooking public.

From the look of these photos, it seems that leading lady Gal Gadot was playing Wonder Woman’s alter ego Diana Prince at a post-World War I rally. Accompanying Gadot was The Office star Lucy Davis, who appears as Etta Candy: Prince’s best friend. Although Wonder Woman will first be seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, she will get her origin story in this Patty Jenkins-directed production, which will explore how she became the legendary Wonder Woman amongst a World War I setting.

Filming has also been rumoured to have taken place at Craco; a ghost town in southern Italy popular with filmmakers – perhaps the setting of Wonder Woman’s mythical realm Themyscira. Craco has been the setting for many movies, including The Passion of the Christ, and Quantum of Solace. Joining Gadot in Wonder Woman is Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Prince’s love interest, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta. Wonder Woman is due for release June 23, 2017 and you can see pictures of their Trafalgar Square shoot below.
