London based electronica trio Years & Years landed their first UK #1 single on Sunday (March 8) with their latest offering titled “King“, as announced on the Radio 1 Chart Show with Clara Amfo. The band consisting of Olly Alexander, Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Turkmen stole the number one spot from Ellie Goulding who held the title for a total of four weeks with “Love Me Like You Do“. “I don’t think any of us thought we’d be Number 1, no one told us it would be Number 1. They said it wouldn’t get to Number 1, but it did”, singer Olly Alexander told OfficialCharts.com.
