2016 British Isles Nominees For International Woolmark Prize Announced | Fashion News

8 designers from the British Isles have been chosen to compete in the heats for the International Woolmark Prize. Shortlisted in the womenswear category were Ashley Williams, Ryan Lo, Danielle Romeril and Faustine Steinmetz. Meanwhile in the menswear category, the shortlist included Craig Green, Liam Hodges, Cottweiler and Baartmans & Seigel.

The selected few will join 69 other designers from 61 countries to compete for in the final. The 69 designers will be filtered down to a final 12 who will receive AU$50,000 as a monetary contribution to their next collection as well as a place in the final. The ultimate award will be a donation towards marketing and fabric sourcing their designs, which totals a sum of AU$100,000.

The judging panel will consist of a range of fashion professionals. Regional British Isles awards will be held at the Australian High Commission, London on the 5th July.
