’21 Jump Street’ And ‘Men In Black’ Crossover Still On The Table | Film News

Directing tag-team Phil Lord and Chris Miller are quickly becoming known for turning dubious sounding material into comedy gold with the likes of The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. Now it seems they’re looking into something even more bizarre; a 21 Jump Street/Men In Black crossover. Both Lord and Miller were considering making the third 21 Jump Street installment a MIB crossover and when they recently spoke to MTV, they seemed pretty confident about the idea; “Nothing’s changed. It’s still a crazy idea. We only do things that seem like they’re gonna be terrible, so this only makes it more like that”.

They continued to talk about the project in general and touched upon the idea of having Tommy Lee Jones star; “We certainly would be blessed to have him be a part of it, but we’re really focusing on just like what’s a great story for Schmidt and Jenko and how to tell the next chapter in their lives, and perhaps use creatures from another world at the same time”. It’s important to remember that the entire idea of a 21 Jump Street/Men In Black crossover has never been an official project, just information from leaked email. Still, that doesn’t mean it’s not happening and despite the idea sounding kind of ridiculous, I actually kind of hope Lord and Miller knock this one out of the park!
