German indie pop duo I Want Poetry has unveiled their fifth single called “For The Night”. It is the fifth piece to announce their upcoming album Human Touch, which is to be released November 20.
It’s an emotional indie pop track, that develops into an energetic anthem led by powerful drums and synths. The song was written by the band in February 2020, during lockdown, in the midst of recording their debut album, and the lyrics are about people’s darkest times. The duo dedicated it to the people whose lives have changed this year to the Covid-19 pandemic.
I Want Poetry is a duo from Dresden, Germany, whose music combines elements from different genres, especially modern Indie pop, and ethereal elements, that altogether blend into something new, and create their very unique sound. Their song “Islanders” was nominated at the European Songwriting Awards.
About the track, the band explains: “we wrote this song during the ‘lockdown’, when the silence of the night seemed to cover the world. Everything changed this year for so many people, and this song is for them. In the dark of the night we can be free and find new strength”.
