A New ‘Green Lantern’ TV Series Is Set To Land On HBO Max | Film News

HBO has officially confirmed that a new Green Lantern TV series is set to be produced and launched on the new streaming platform HBO Max channel. This announcement comes with the one of other future exciting projects and with famous DC movies set to land on the platform this year.

This new Green Lantern series follows the homonymous 2011 movie, which didn’t live up fans’ expectations. The film starred Ryan Reynolds, who won’t likely wear the green superhero costume again.

No further details have been given about this new project, but we are sure it will be developed by DC television mastermind Greg Berlanti and it will reportedly have $100 million budget. Berlanti will also produce another series for the HBO platform titled Strange Adventurers, which will feature characters from across the DC world.

At a recent convention, Berlanti shared a few words about the Green Lantern series: “Both of these original DC properties we’ll be creating for HBO Max will be unlike anything seen on television. An anthology series of cautionary tales set in a world where superpowers exist, and, in what promises to be our biggest DC show ever made, we will be going to space with a Green Lantern television series, but I can’t reveal any more about that just yet”.
