Canadian singer Alessia Cara released a new romantic music video for her song “October” on October 1, which is featured on her recent This Summer EP. The clip is a sort of personal diary, where Alessia has collected all her most precious memories of Shawn Mendes‘ world tour. The singer performed during the opening acts of all Mendes’ concerts in Europe and America and decided to celebrate this incredible experience through this video.

The song is deeply nostalgic, while the filter of the video conveys the idea that the depicted events belong to an amazing past that is not destined to come back. The singer croons on the chorus: “I’m gonna miss it when it’s over/ I hope we never see October/ I felt the weight fall off my shoulders/ I’m gonna miss this when it’s/ I’m gonna miss it when it’s done”.

The video features Alessia’s band members and, in particular, Shawn Mendes, who is a close friend of her. Every scene conveys her joy and the locations always differ. Some parts of the clip are directly taken from Alessia’s performances and the video finishes with her singing the last part of the song in front of her joyful audience.

Even though this experience is over, Alessia is ready to kick off her own U.S. headlining tour on October 21.
