Allan Kingdom has released the official video for “Fables”, a track from 2016’s Northern Lights. The song sees him grant a cameo appearance to Jamaican reggae talent, Chronixx. The visuals take place in Kingston, Jamaica and Montreal, Quebec, and are directed by Martin C. Pariseau.
“Fables” sounds ethereal, to the point of sounding like monks in a monastery. Very spiritual. How the autotune reverberates around the track almost works, in a way. More tribal percussion takes place near the end, before the track, as calm as ever, fades out.
The video, specifically, takes in the sights of the sea, earth, trees and grass. At one with the world, in a way. This is at odds with, however, his angry remonstrating to the camera, as he stands amidst a waterfall. Maybe just being truthful about his feelings, no fables.
