Alt Pop Duo RINNGS Release New Single ‘Tombstoning’ | Music News

After their recent single “It’s Coming Back“, London-based alt-pop duo RINNGS composed of Karl Zine and Nai Jannson are back with their new single “Tombstoning” on Wow and Flutters Records!

The multi-instrumentalist duo, who are also signed to Universal Music Publishing, are known for creating pop songs by layering vocals and drums and writing about life.

Their tracks are produced by Karl Zine, who also creates the illustrations and videos. They have been supported by Spotify, BBC introducing, Radio 1, tastemaker blogs The 405, The Line Of Best Fit and others.

The duo has also had numerous collaborations, either together or separately, with artists such as Pavel Khvaleev, Iselin Solheim and Craig Armstrong and have finishing commissions for Great Ormond Street, The Criterion and Netflix.

The single “Tombstoning” is a minimal dark pop song. The lyrics are an inner monologue about a new relationship. It’s about the risks you take when you fall in love, and how you accept those risks.

According to the 405, “The expert way they have layered and produced their sumptuous and three-dimensional sounds brings all of these bodily elements to life”, and according to Line Of Best Fit“the result is a moodily pulsating slice of pop that slowly grinds its gears into motion, building upon swirls and buzzing tones as the track reaches its climax”.
