Patrick Warburton famously portrayed comic book character The Tick in Fox’s live-action series series in the early 2000s, while Townsend Coleman lent his voice to the ‘90s cartoon.
Now Amazon Studios is rebooting the series for a new series, the voice actor has changed once again. Enter Comedian Peter Serafinowicz, who is known for his chest-grabbing Aldo in Paul Feig’s Spy and a member of Nova Corps in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
Deadline confirmed the casting, the actor joining Griffin Newman – who plays The Ticks sidekick Arthur – Valorie Curry, who plays Arthur’s sister Dot.
The series sees Arthur labelled a schizophrenic when nobody else believes evil is planning on taking over the city, Dot worrying about him, whilst The Tick re-dons his famous blue suit to fight evil after recovering from memory loss. Warburton is expected to return as executive producer, whilst Wally Pfister helms the pilot episode as director.
