Andy Murray’s Second Wimbledon Win Draws In 13.3 Million Viewers, But More See Euro 2016 Final | TV News

Tennis vs Football, who’d you think would win? Andy Murray’s second Wimbledon title victory at the famous tennis tournament drew in a staggering 13.3 million, but not enough to beat the viewing figures for the final of Euro 2016 between Portugal and France which drew in 13.6 million viewers.

Murray’s straight set win over Milos Raonic drew an average 9.2 million viewers, the France vs Portugal game doing 1 million better with an average of 10.2 million viewers. The match traditionally sees the BBC and ITV go toe-to-toe in the coverage of the event, the BBC winning in the ratings battle with viewers preferring BBC One’s coverage fronted by Gary Lineker due to the obvious lack of adverts.
