Angelina Jolie & David Oyelowo In Talks To Star In Fantasy Drama ‘Come Away’ | Film News

Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo are in talks to star in the fantasy drama Come Away, which will tell the story of Alice from Alice In Wonderland and Peter from Peter Pan, and how they’re actually brother and sister. The film will revolve around their lives as siblings as well as their parents.

The film will serve as the live-action directorial debut of Brenda Champman, who directed and co-wrote Pixar’s Brave. The film is being imagined as a prequel to both Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan. Before they went off to become their famous selves, they were siblings.

When their eldest brother dies in a tragic accident, they each seek to save their parents from their downward spirals of despair until they are finally forced to choose between home and imagination, setting the stage for their eventual journeys to Wonderland and Neverland. Jolie and Oyelowo are in talks to play the parents.

Champman said: “Angelina and David are going to bring a beautiful chemistry and depth to this magical story, giving audiences a wonderful step outside the expected”. The script has been penned by Marissa Kate Goodhill, who added:

“Brenda is a singular storyteller. Her decades of experience in creating rich fantasy worlds populated by complex characters make her a dream director for this project, which explores how fantasy functions as a way to cope with reality. Her thoughtful approach to filmmaking and indomitable talent make her the perfect person to bring this story to life”.

Production is set to begin later this year in the U.K., with Jolie joining the shoot in the autumn once it moves to Los Angeles, as she recently began shooting Maleficent II and will have to balance her schedule. Oyelowo will next be seen in the sci-fi horror film Only You, and will also star in Doug Liman‘s big-screen adaptation of Chaos Walking, which also stars Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley.
