Despite having already begun filming this month, it seems that the casting for Guy Richie‘s first of six film epic Knight of The Round Table: King Arthur wasn’t quite wrapped up yet. With the likes of Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Eric Bana and Djimon Hounsou already part of the team, the cast list is already seriously impressive. There’s room for a little addition though as Annabelle Wallis joins them also!
Take a look at the official synopsis for the flick; “The bold new story introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londinium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur—and with it, his future. Instantly challenged by the power of Excalibur, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices. Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King”.
According to Deadline, Wallis will be joining the cast as Maid Maggie. Wallis recently starred in freaky horror flick Annabelle but you might recognize her from her television roles in the likes of Peaky Blinders, The Musketeers, Pam Am and The Tudors. She’s a really talented young actress and exposure in a film like this could do wonders for her career. I’m a fan of Richie and his bigger movies so I’m very much looking forward to seeing what he can do with King Arthur! Kings of The Round Table is set to hit theatres July 22nd 2016.
