Annette Bening & Michelle Pfeiffer To Star In Thriller ‘Turn Of Mind’ | Film News

Annette Bening and Michelle Pfeiffer have signed on to star in the psychological thriller, Turn Of Mind. Gideon Raff – creator and director of Prisoners Of War, the series that was adapted into Homeland – will direct. The film is based on Alice LaPlante‘s New York Times bestseller of the same name.

Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright is adapting the novel. The story revolves around a retired orthopaedic surgeon suffering from Alzheimer’s who, in her moments of clarity, is trying to figure out if she killed the person the police claim she did, or if she’s being deceived.

Rocket Science is financing the film. As with many projects that have been announced in the past few weeks, producers will attempt to shop the project at this week’s Cannes Film Festival. Raff said of the film:

Turn of Mind is an edge of your seat emotional thriller. A story of a warped friendship between two brilliant, sharp, forceful women who are bonded equally by their love for and jealousy of one other”.

Both Bening and Pfeiffer have recently starred in Marvel movies. Bening played Dr. Wendy Lawson in Captain Marvel, while Pfeiffer reprised her Ant-Man role as Janet Van Dyne in Avengers: Endgame. Both also have interesting projects lined up. Bening will star in Amazon’s The Report, while Pfeiffer has roles in Maleficent 2 and French Exit on the horizon.

These Turn Of Mind roles will certainly be quite different to their recent Marvel forays. It should be a treat to see two of the world’s great actresses lead a thriller like this together.
