Ava Max Releases New Single ‘Salt’ | Music News

The quirky, fiery pop artist Ava Max has released another catchy track, “Salt”.

Ava Max exploded onto the scene after her 2018 single “Sweet but Psycho” topped the charts in 26 countries including the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, and New Zealand.

She has since followed up the pop anthem with songs like “Freaking Me Out”, “Blood Sweat and Tears” and “Torn”. With a handful of successful singles already under her belt, “Salt” was released on December 12, and has not disappointed fans.

Punchy, staccato strings open the song before being accompanied by vibrant dance beats. Sassy and upbeat, this track is endowed with a healthy pump of female empowerment, with Ava Max’s powerful, feminine voice taking centre stage.

Her music is bold and unashamedly pop, bringing to mind the early sounds of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, with Ava Max herself naming Gaga and Perry as musical influences, along with Britney SpearsCéline Dion, and Mariah Carey.

As well as possessing a seismic voice, Ava Max has an undeniable knack for popcraft, with her signature asymmetric hairstyle already an instantly recognisable part of her unique theatrical persona. When asked about her haircut, she told Elite Daily: “I cut my hair like that by accident and I looked in the mirror and I loved it. I felt like it was me. My gut was like, ‘This is it. This is who you are’”.

Ava Max has already accepted the Breakthrough Award at the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards 2019, and has been nominated for the Best New Artist award at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
