Band Aid Single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ Reboot Planned To Fight Ebola | Music News

 

Sir Bob Geldof has told The Sun that he will reboot “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” in aid of raising money for Ebola this year. It was originally released in 1984 and was rebooted in 1989 for Band Aid II. It was rebooted for a third time in 2004 to mark the 20th anniversary of the single being released. It is being reported that singing alongside Geldof, would be One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Alt-J, Sam Smith, Adele, Ben Howard and Florence Welch. The original track featured some of the biggest artists of the 80s such as Bono, Paul McCartney, Boy George, Bananarama, Paul Weller and Wham! It raised £8 million for anti-poverty efforts in Ethiopia.
