BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra have launched a volunteer campaign called “1 Million Hours”. The campaign will urge user to do their bit to contribute to a collective total of one million hours to charities across the UK over twelve months.

 

Ben Cooper, controller of both radio stations stated, “I want BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra to be a force for good in the UK and magnify all the positive work that young people do for others, so we’re very proud to be working alongside some of the most experienced organisations in the country to reach 1 million hours of volunteering“. The campaign, which begins on December 1 will also see well-known staff take part and work with charities such as Age UK and Cancer Research.
