Beck – Dark Places | New Music
American singer Beck, who made a name for himself in the experimental and lo-fi music scene in the 1990s, has returned from the recording studio with new works. In fact he has revealed that his upcoming album Hyperspace will be available on November 22 via Capitol Records.
While waiting for the upcoming release, the singer has shared another track extracted from the album, “Dark Places”. It is the fourth of a series of songs that have been already released. Along with the new song, the singer has unveiled a lyric video wich follows the words of the song both in english and japanese.
Moreover, Beck’s calm voice is accompanied by a synth that evokes vaporwave vibes, marked by a secure drums. The lyric of the song seems to follow the thoughts of the girl protagonist of the video clip, who wanders alone in the night in an unknown city where the atmosphere recalls the movie Lost In Translation by Sofia Coppola.
Surely this song anticipates the spooky melodies and excellent musical arrangements that the album will contain. It is clear that Beck is creating new tracks by exploring a new direction from the musical point of view. His talent has always allowed him to produce fresh music without compromising quality.
