Movie star and director Ben Stiller decided to pay a touching tribute to the late David Bowie at the premiere for Zoolander 2, admitting he would have loved to included him in the new prequel. The Starman made a cameo appearance in 2001’s Zoolander, where he judged Stiller’s Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald’s (Owen Wilson) ridiculous runway walk-off.

 

Speaking at the premiere, Stiller reminisced on Bowie’s incredible influence and ability to always be ahead of the times: “He was a huge influence on so many people, on our culture, in the last 40, 50 years – when you go back and look at how long he was making music and how ahead of the curve he always was and always taking chances”.

 

He continued, confessing he would have loved to work alongside the legendary singer one last time: “It would have been great to have him in the second one, but having him in the first was a very special thing, and I will always cherish that”.
