BFF’s Sophie Turner & Maisie Williams Speak On Mental Health For Glamour Magazine | Film News

Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, Stark sisters on the screen and best friends in real life, are the new cover stars of Spring/Summer 2019 edition of Glamour Magazine. And together, they are opening up about the difficulties they face every day at work and in life.

The >Game of Thrones‘ stars are a real thing. Maisie, 21, and Sophie, 23, met aged 12 and 13 respectively during the audition process for GOT, back in 2009. “Honestly, we’ve been best friends ever since.” says Sophie. They also have a matching ‘07.08.09’ tattoos on their forearms (the date that they got their roles).

Fundamentally, what makes this friendship so extraordinary  is that there’s zero competition between them. Turner said the pair are often mistaken for being an item. The duo admitted they sometimes sneak a kiss on set to “freak out” their Thrones co-stars.

The two girls revealed that always support each other. Maisie talked about her mental health problems and how Sophie told her a million of times to go to therapist before she actually did. She also highlights the importance of therapy “You should absolutely speak to someone, even if in your head you go, ‘Yeah, I knew that!’” Maisie said.

Sophie agrees, “We’ve helped each other through a lot of mental health problems, especially around body image. She’s been my crutch in that, and I’ve been hers because it seems everything she goes through, I go through.” They also touched on the theme of body image and how hard it is in this industry to not be influenced by what people say about you and your figure as a woman.

Maisie and Sophie don’t have any fear to share their struggles on social-media. With more than 20 million followers, they’re fully aware of how their position enables them to help others. “I’ve gone through some lows in my life and I want to come out of them in a positive way and help people” says Sophie.

They also share beautiful and exciting things with the magazine, like Sophie’s engagement with Joe Jonas. He proposed in October 2017 after an 11-month romance, and the wedding will take place in France this year. Also Maise mentioned that there’s not only her friendship with Sophie on her mind but also boys – referring to her relationship with Ollie Jackson, whom she met at school.

Sadly, the fantastic duo will soon be coming to an end. The eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones airs on Sky Atlantic and Now TV from April 15. If you are wondering if the actress will work together again, Nobody knows!
