Last year, the artist made her way to the Top 10 on Billboard’s Album Chart with her full-length debut album Church of Scars.
Bishop has been achieving recognition from many different music magazines like Rolling Stone, Billboard and Entertainment Weekly, among others. The artist sold out her two headline tours and she also has been killing it with with her wild, stage-shaking performances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Jimmy Fallon’s show and American Idol.
With her new single “Tattooed On My Heart”, Bishop proves her storytelling abilities and her incredible talent as a singer/songwriter and musician. The track is an anthem for the broken-hearted.
“I have lots of tattoos – too many to count.” Bishop says about the song, adding “But the one tattoo that feels different than all of the ones on the outside is the one sitting on my heart and this thought process is where my new song, “Tattooed On My Heart”, was born. I’m still waiting for the day that it’ll begin to dissolve but for now, I’ll just sing about it.”
The music video is directed by Tim Mattia and produced by Jonny Coffer and continues with the story from her previous music video released for her single “Champion”. It shows Bishop seeking to take back her heart after he breaks it by leaving her at the altar, a symbolic representation of the healing process when a relationship ends.
