The long awaited sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 cult classic Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford (Rick Deckard), Rutger Hauer (Roy Batty) and Daryl Hannah (Pris) finally gets a release date of January 12, 2018.

The original film centred around a blade runner (Harrison Ford) pursuing and trying to terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator. Over the years the film has gained a cult following and is widely considered a sci-fi masterpiece. The overall plot for the sequel is unknown, but is said to take place several decades after the conclusion of the original.

Other than Harrison Ford it doesn’t look like any other original cast will be returning, but Ford will be accompanied by Ryan Gosling. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in July, 2016. Multi-Oscar nominated cinematographer Rodger Deakins (Sicario, Prisoners) will reunite with director Denis Villeneuve on the project.
