Blur Debut ‘Broadcast’ And ‘Ong Ong’ On ‘Later… With Jools Holland’ | New Music

If you haven’t heard, and maybe you should have by now, Blur have a new album coming out. The album, The Magic Whip, will be their first since 2003’s Think Tank. The Britpop band have recently taken to the platform of Jools Holland, alongside Laura Marling and The Vaccines to air out two new tunes from their forthcoming album, set for release next Monday (April 27).

The first of the tracks “Broadcast”, is a fast punky tune that would not have sounded out of place on Parklife, the band’s break through commercial album. “Ong Ong” however, features Damon Albarn with an acoustic guitar, not quite of the same breed as “Tender”. However, the track definitely has a more relaxed poppy feel, with a ‘La La’ chorus, almost tailor made for Hyde Park this summer. Listen to the two tracks here:
