Bruno Mars Becomes First Artist With Five Diamond Certified Singles | Music News

Bruno Mars has hit a new record this weekend by becoming the first ever artist to achieve diamond certifications for five singles according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

With this new certification, the worldwide popstar marks history again and took over Twitter to thank and pay tribute to his fans and stated “Love you hooligans. Thank you for rockin’ with me throughout this incredible journey. We’ve only just begun”.

The five hits that are concerned by this certification are “Just The Way You Are,” certified 12x platinum, “Uptown Funk!” and “When I was Your Man” with 11 platinum certifications, and “That’s What I Like” and “Grenade”, which are certified platinum 10 times.

Mitch Glazier, CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) expressed his congratulations to Mars by saying “Congratulations to Bruno Mars – the first artist with five Diamond Single Awards in the history of RIAA’s Gold and Platinum Program! This milestone is a testament to Bruno’s unstoppable creative genius and the incredible partnership he has built with the team at Atlantic Records”,

He also noticed that that RIAA counts less that 60 certified diamond singles and that Bruno Mars has five of them, which is absolutely extraordinary.

This record is occurring alongside the rise in the charts of Mars’ latest single “Leave The Door Open” featuring Anderson .Paak, which has taken over social networks and is being played on radio stations around the world. Maybe this track will bring another certification to the artist’s list of awards.
