Cameron Crowe’s Romantic Comedy Gets Official ‘Aloha’ Title | Film News

We first heard that Jerry Maguire director Cameron Crowe was going to be tackling a new romantic comedy around two years ago and then when the untitled film was meant to hit theatres last Christmas Day, it was moved back to May this year. It seems now that the Hawaii-set film finally has its official title; Aloha. This is pretty fitting, given the location, right? While this isn’t mind blowing news, it does serve its purpose in reminding us there’s actually going to be a Cameron Crowe movie. Check out the synopsis; “A celebrated military contractor returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs and re-connects with a long-ago love while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog assigned to him”.

None other than Bradley Cooper will be starring as the military contractor in question with Emma Stone taking the role of his love interest. Crowe is a real hit and miss director for me, while Almost Famous got a mega thumbs up for me, flicks like Elizabethtown seriously, seriously sucked so I’m not getting my hopes up too much for Aloha. However, with Stone and Cooper taking center stage and performances from Alec Baldwin, Rachel McAdams, John Krasinski, Bill Murray, Jay Baruchel and Danny McBride; Crowe has a seriously impressive cast to play with. Aloha opens on May 29, 2015.
