The untitled Han Solo Anthology film set to introduce us to a younger version of Star Wars interpid smuggler doesn’t debut until 2018, but casting has now begun for a new actor to step into Harrison Ford‘s shoes. The film’s directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) have brought on casting director Jeanne McCarthy to audition 2,500 young actors who could potentially fill the role.

Unlike J.J Abrams‘ casting of The Force Awakens, who focused on hiring up-and-comers and unknowns for his leads, there are some big names in the pool right now and some vastly varying ages to from mid teens to early 30s. Producer and Lucasfilm overlord Kathleen Kennedy previously indicated that Solo in the film would be in his “high teens, low 20s“.

Here are some of the names currently in consideration:

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Avengers: Age of Ultron, 25

Chandler Riggs, The Walking Dead, 16

Nick Robinson, Jurassic World, 20

Ansel Elgort, The Fault in Our Stars, 21

Miles Teller, Whiplash, 28

Dave Franco, 21 Jump Street, 30

Landon Liboiron, Hemlock Grove, 23

The Han Solo film is being written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan, and is currently set for release in May 25, 2018.
