CBS has lost one of its finest. Morley Safer, a reporter who spent 52 years with the American network as a correspondent on the show 60 Minutes died on Thursday the media have confirmed just days after retiring from the show.

 

The 84-year-old joined the show in 1970, his first story on the training of federal sky marshals. He filed his last and 919th report – on the Danish Architect Bjarke Ingels in March of this year. The network announced his retirement last week reported due to declining health amongst other issues. No cause of death has been given to his passing.
