Chance The Rapper Announces ‘Magnificent Coloring World’ Concert Film | Music News

 

Chance The Rapper is making his feature film debut with a surprising announcement about his first film Magnificent Coloring World.

 

The Chicago rapper is releasing his first concert film in theaters this summer. He announced the big news from his Twitter account with the caption “Coming soon to an @AMCTheatres near you”, followed by a trailer for his upcoming film.

 

Magnificent Coloring World will be released to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Coloring Book, the Chance The Rapper mixtape that launched his career, and led to him being the first independent artist to win a Grammy in the categories of Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album.

 

In the trailer for Magnificent Coloring World, we can see brief clips from the upcoming film, as well as the rapper’s voice repeating the phrase “Are you ready” in the background, the trailer lasts only 48 seconds but knows how to make fans want to go to the cinema to see his very first film.

 

Chance The Rapper had earlier polled his fans on Twitter about the idea of making a movie he had asked them “If I made a movie would u go see it in theatres?”, now that it’s done we just have to wait for the fans’ opinions.

 

The film was directed by Jack Schreier and produced by Chance and Park Pictures’ House of Kicks banner, and will be released exclusively in AMC theaters.

 

As for his return to the stage, Chance The Rapper is expected to perform at Summerfest in Milwaukee in September. He also recently performed on Justin Bieber‘s track “Holy” which was a hit, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
