Channel 4 Beats ITV With More Views In One Day Since 2012 | TV News
It’s all coming up trumps for Channel 4! The broadcaster performed the rare feat of attracting a higher share of viewers than ITV between 6am and midnight on February 28 for the first time since the London Paralympics closing ceremony in 2012. Altogether, the channel stole 7.9% of the nation’s viewers.
ITV is struggling to replace the goliath that was Downton Abbey, the big budget drama Jekyll and Hyde was cancelled due to poor viewing figures, and the same fate quickly happened to fantasy epic Beowulf.
ITV’s best performer last night was Churchill’s Secret, starring Michael Gambon – the only saving grace for the channel which managed to grab 7.8% of total viewers.
