Cigarettes After Sex – Heavenly | New Music

Cigarettes After Sex have shared “Heavenly”, the first single from their upcoming second album, Cry, which is due for release on October 25.

Two years after the release of their self-titled debut album, Cigarettes After Sex are back with a new song and they sound as ethereal and dreamy as ever. “Heavenly” is the lead single from their sophomore LP coming out this Autumn. Speaking about the new track, the band’s frontman Greg Gonzalez said it was “inspired by the overwhelming beauty I felt watching an endless sunset on a secluded beach in Latvia one summer night…”.

The follow up to 2017’s Cigarettes After Sex was recorded in a mansion on the Spanish island of Mallorca. “The sound of this record is completely tied to the location for me”, Gonzalez said. “Ultimately, I view this record as a film.

It was shot in this stunning, exotic location, and it stitches all these different characters and scenes together, but in the end is really about romance, beauty & sexuality. It’s a very personal telling of what those things mean to me”.

The new album from Cigarettes After Sex will arrive on October 25 via Partisan Records. The band will return to the UK next year.
