The video for Classixx’s “Whatever I Want”, featuring T-Pain, is very reminiscent of The Smith’s “Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before”, the only difference being it is shot nearly thirty years later in East L.A.
“Whatever I Want” itself has atmospherics, tinkling and with bottomless bass. It is quite funky. Things get a tad sedate, a refrain, before the song proper kicks in, again. The vocals have an echo effect upon them, maybe a tad of autotune. Still tasteful, though.
The visuals, captured on a GoPro camera by director Daniel Pappas, see T-Pain leading a bike brigade. As said, very Smiths. There are denim jackets, some of which emblazoned with a Classixx logo.
